My Experience

This is where you can tell the story behind the recipe.

Perhaps this was a recipe you made for the first time, something you've cooked hundreds of times, or simply a meal that you particularly enjoy.

I wanted to include this section because the recipes should feel personal rather than just being a list of ingredients and instructions.

Method

01

Prepare the ingredients

Finely chop the onion and garlic. Have all of your ingredients ready before you start cooking.

02

Cook the onion and garlic

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over a medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.

03

Brown the mince

Add the beef mince to the pan and cook until thoroughly browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.

04

Build the sauce

Stir in the tomato purée, followed by the chopped tomatoes and oregano. Season with salt and pepper.

05

Simmer

Reduce the heat and allow the sauce to simmer. Stir occasionally and allow the flavours to develop.

06

Cook the spaghetti

Cook the spaghetti according to the instructions on the packet until al dente. Drain once cooked.

07

Serve

Serve the spaghetti with a generous portion of the bolognese sauce. Finish with Parmesan if desired.

Tips & Tricks

💡

Don't rush the onions

Giving the onions plenty of time to soften helps build the flavour of the sauce.

💡

Let the sauce simmer

If you have the time, allowing the sauce to simmer for longer can give it a richer flavour.

💡

Taste as you go

Adjust the seasoning throughout the cooking process rather than adding everything at once.
